Best Rope (Beal Top Gun 50m)

Climbing Gear - Beal Top Gun 50m | MediumThe sky’s the limit with this popular all-rounder. Exceptional handling combined with good value for money and durability makes the Top Gun suitable for all grades and styles of climbing. It's rated for a record number of falls for its diameter making it one of the best single ropes in the world.

Technical Specifications

French manufacturer Beal has been at the forefront of climbing design since the early 80s, and its experience shows with the impressive Top Gun.

This smooth-running rope sports the lowest impact force of any single rope on the market, which will take the shock out of those big falls.

It also allows more falls to be taken on it for its diameter than any other single rope. The Top Gun can withstand an incredible 11 Factor 1.77 UIAA-tested falls (see Climbing Gear Overview for more information about UIAA testing and fall factors).

Suffice to say that it’s more than suitable for big guys, big walls, and of course, big falls.

The Top Gun's outer covering or "sheath" comes with anti-abrasive dry-treatment, which increases its resistance to wear resulting from the wet, dirt, and general use, and significantly increases its lifespan.
