Best View of the Lights (Ghost Bar) |

Opened in 2001, the Palms Casino Resort has become a favorite haunt of the rich and famous. Located just west of the Las Vegas Strip, the resort is best known for its Playboy tower, frequent Britney Spears sightings, and the panoramic view from Ghost Bar.

A high-speed elevator whisks guests up 42 stories, into a futuristic 8,000 square foot lounge with an outdoor deck that overlooks the Strip and the entire Las Vegas valley. Not for nothing has the view been described as “the money shot of Las Vegas.” From this vantage point, it’s possible to take in almost all of Las Vegas Blvd., from the light beam emanating from the top of the Luxor pyramid to the emerald greens of the MGM Grand, as well as the fountains of Caesars Palace and the Circus Circus big top.

Those without a fear of heights can move to the edge of the clear glass floor and look 400 feet straight down to the pool deck below. It’s easier to do after the first couple of drinks.
The view is just as memorable inside, where the city’s young and monied visitors mingle with the junket tourists in a cool setting of icy blues and silvers. They’re not as crazy with the drink prices as you might expect from such a high-profile locale, yet another pleasant surprise in a room that’s full of wondrous delights. Ghost Bar is open daily from 8PM to 4AM, but it’s to arrive early, especially on weekends, to avoid the lines to get in.
