Cornish Family Beaches |
 |
| Picking the top five family beaches in Cornwall is tricky - simply because there are so many spectacular spots that fulfill such a wide variety of demands. |

With more than 250 miles of coast, Cornwall has it all: whether you want safe swimming, an unspoilt cove far from the hordes, exhilarating watersports, or excellent food just a stone's throw from the shore.
The two coasts - north and south - could hardly be more different. The north opens on to the Atlantic Ocean and mainly offers wild and rugged scenery with beaches that have vast expanses of sand. The south coast is more tropical and generally has calmer waters, along with more sheltered - but smaller and less sandy - bays. |

I have lived in Cornwall on and off for almost all my life. My parents escaped the "rat race" and moved here in 1961 - when I was three.
Now I live in Cornwall with my wife, Claire, and our two daughters, Jessica and Louella, who have grown up here. We have lived on both coasts - and all five of the beaches I recommend have been picked through first hand experience. |
