Tomy Baby Link

Ursula Seymour - Tomy Baby Link - Independent, Expert Reviews at ProductSifter - We hunt down the best so you don't have to
If you've got a baby you almost certainly want a baby monitor to keep tabs on your little darling while you're not in the same room. Here Ursula Seymour, who writes for a range of magazines and newspapers including The Sunday Times, picks five of the best Click to view Top 5 Baby Monitors.

Best on a Budget (Tomy Baby Link)

Baby Monitors - Tomy Baby Link | MediumThis monitor is as basic as they come, with no extra features to confuse you. It uses only an analogue signal to send sound signals via your mains wiring, so it’s ideally suited to a small flat or house, but if you want a value-for-money device that will still let you keep an ear out for your baby, the Baby Link is perfect.

This really is a stripped down interpretation of the baby monitor and as such it's really easy to use. Just plug the baby unit into a socket in your child's room and plug in the parent unit wherever you are. You can then hear any sounds from your baby's room via the speaker on the parent unit.

The Baby Link doesn't have any real extras, although the volume on the parent's unit has a preset minimum so you can't turn it so low that you won't hear your baby crying.

Which?, the UK Consumers' Association magazine, awarded this monitor a Best Buy in its latest Baby Monitor test thanks to its ease of use and effectiveness. It found that sound quality was clear and there was no interference from other monitors.

Customer Satisfaction

Baby Monitors - Tomy Baby Link | SmallCustomers seem to back up Which?'s findings with one on the Kiddicare website saying: "(The Tomy Baby Link is)really good. No batteries to worry about (as it) plugs straight into the wall. (It's) basic, but does the job. Fantastic value"

And Babyworld gives it 4.5 out of 5 stars and saying: "The Baby Link is a brilliant monitor as there aren't any confusing options and the reception is fine. It's so simple to use – you just plug the parent and baby units into the wall, turn the mains on and you're ready to go."
