It includes a rechargeable battery that provides up to 15 hours playback, and can be charged from the mains, so it really is a take anywhere radio. Portable and Robust |
 As size had to be kept down to make it portable, the Oasis measures just 155x 230x140mm. There is only one speaker inside the radio, but this hasn't had too bad an effect on sound quality. It might not be able to match the more high-end models, The Mail on Sunday still says "the sound is the best I’ve heard from a portable DAB", handing it a best buy award too.
The controls are kept simple and are all coated in easy-grip plastic, so you will be able to operate them even in driving rain, or with your shower on full pelt. It has four station presets, though you can list your favourite stations alphabetically to make them easier to locate. It also has an AUX in port, so you can plug in your MP3 player.

 The single speaker is protected by a perforated grille to stop it getting damaged and the aerial is rubber-coated and can withstand lots of bending and tweaking, adding to the radio's robust feel.
It has all the features you would expect with a fast auto tune to get you started, though there are none of the Sky+ style features found on our Ultimate Evoke 3. Station names are displayed on the LCD screen and an info button provides any details available about the station.
While we challenge you to break this tough nut, if you do have any problems with it, it's backed by Pure's standard two-year warranty.
